Fall Lecture offered at Henry Carter Hull Library

Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Henry Carter Hull Library and the Clinton Historical Society, Timothy Young, a curator from Yale University's Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, will present a lecture on the history of children's literature on Wednesday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m. Young is author of "Drawn to Enchant: original children's book art in the Betsy Beinecke Shirley collection." This book illuminates the development of children's books from the early days of American Independence to present day. Young will present a slide show tour of the collection and will discuss the history of children's literature in Connecticut. This event is free and open to the public.

Museum Room Open During Christmas in Clinton

The Museum Room of William Stanton Andrews Memorial Town Hall will be open during Christmas in Clinton festivities on December 6, from 2-6 p.m. Make paper snowflakes to take home or to decorate the museum, and enjoy gingersnaps as you tour the exhibits and shop for holiday gifts. This is also a chance for you to view this year's special exhibit "Clinton Art Society Celebrates 60 Years." Admission is free. For further information, please call (860)664-1771.

Open House at Old Brick during Christmas in Clinton

Christmas in Clinton is a great tradition in town, and would not be complete without a visit to Old Brick. Travel back in time as you step into Old Brick on December 6 from 3-7 p.m. A crackling fire, the beauty of historic holiday decorations, and the smell of hot mulled cider await you. A Victorian family in period dress will be featured, along with readings of "The Night Before Christmas," tours of Old Brick, and live harp music. You may even run into our festive carolers spreading good cheer along Main Street.
Our gift shop will also be open, offering items such as scented candles, Williamsburg soaps, Primrose Path Collectible Buildings, and many more items.

Holiday Luncheons at Old Brick

Our annual Holiday Luncheons at Old Brick are scheduled for December 8, 9, and 10 at noon. A festively-decorated Old Brick is the place to be to enjoy good food and good cheer with friends and family. This year's expanded menu includes artichoke and romaine salad with vidalia onion dressing, lemon chicken, butternut-sweet potato streusel, buttered string beans, corn bread, punch or wine, coffee/tea, and mini bundt cake topped with hot fudge and whipped cream.

This luncheon is very popular, and it is recommended that you make your reservations early. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to dine in a gracious historic setting. Dress is festive, and this event is open to the public. The cost is $16 for CHS members and their guests, and $18 for non-members.
