Morgan School Founders Day – Sunday April 10th 2 pm

The Clinton Historical Society, Morgan School Alumni Assocation, and Morgan School are co-sponsoring Morgan Founders Day, a celebration of the history of Morgan School.

The Morgan School was founded in 1870 with a gift of former Clinton resident and shipping magnate Charles Morgan. Since its founding the Morgan School has been a center of life in the town of Clinton. The Morgan School was originally located on Main St. next to the current Pierson School, and moved to its current location on the Killingworth Turnpike in 1951.

The Founder’s Day Program will be a chance for Morgan graduates and residents of Clinton to learn more about the history of the Morgan School. The program will include a short history on Charles Morgan, a description of life as a student at the original Morgan, a short illustrated talk about the history of the Morgan School, a panel discussion with current and former teachers and students, and an opportunity to take a tour of the school led by current students.

The program will begin at 2 pm in the Morgan School Library.
